Kathy Chater HFA Fhp
Kathy provides home visits the areas of North Medway including Cliffe, Hoo, Higham and Strood.
Kathy joins Healthy Feet Mobile Clinic after training through our Healthy Feet Academy, where she gained a Level 4 Diploma, accredited by the Institute of Training and Occupational Learning. She has also completed a Diabetic Foot Health Screening course, accredited by the Universities of Edinburgh and Plymouth, and is qualified to treat diabetic patients, including providing neuropathy testing.
Kathy brings with her over 23 years of experience working within the healthcare sector, primarily within the NHS.
Throughout her career she has held a number of varied and rewarding roles, including:
• Healthcare Assistant within a community nursing team
• Day Centre Therapist in a rehabilitation unit
• Associate Practitioner and Community Falls Prevention Group Leader
• Postural Stability Instructor specialising in later life training and falls prevention
• Associate Practitioner within an in patient therapy team
Naturally, foot health has always been an important part of her work and she has spent many years educating patients on how to look after and maintain good foot health as part of their overall wellbeing and mobility.
Outside of work, Kathy enjoys socialising and spending time with her family, especially sunny holidays in Majorca, which holds a special place in her heart. She has a grown-up son and daughter, two young granddaughters aged 2 and 6, and two much loved dogs, Reggie and Kyra, who keep her very busy when she’s not caring for patients!
As with all our practitioners, Kathy uses a vacuum autoclave to sterilise her foot care instruments at home, ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and safety for your treatment.
